Food Choices - Ultimate Comfort Foods

First time to join Food Choices meme. I am not much of a foodie like my brother, but I love food as well, so might as well use this blog as a platform to express my love for food. This week is all about comfort foods, and here are ten of mine, in random order:

01 > Spaghetti. Any kind, any sauce (except the seafood ones). Well, I go for tuna, but as far as my spaghetti eating is concerned, I really didn't like sauces that uses seafoods. My favorite would be those with white sauces, and really, I can eat spaghetti every day provided they are freshly made.

02 > Sinigang na Baboy (Pork in Sour Broth). It has to be really hot and really sour! There are so many variants of this dish, but I prefer mine with taro, string beans, and kangkong.

03 > Pineapples. Whether it's cold or not, sour or sweet, I would eat pineapples even upon waking up. When I am a bit sad, a wedge of pineapple is enough to cheer me up.

04 > Chippy, the red one. I am so much into corn chips, and this is my favorite. My week will never be complete without eating a bag, but I only eat one bag a week.

05 > Chicharon (pork cracklings). My ultimate comfort food. This is the one food I cannot resist, but I am trying hard to resist it nowadays. Eating this food brings smile to my face, I just hope my heart is smiling as well. Hahahaha!

06 > Yakult. It is basically a drink and not a food, but drinking one a day comforts me in a way because it has live bacteria (good kind) that promotes good digestion.

07 > Vegetables (except okra). When I have eaten pork or any meat dishes for two days, I would start to worry, and eating vegetables takes that worry away. My favorite is the squash.

08 > Lumpiang Shanghai (Shanghai Springrolls). Ummm yummm.

09 > Pizza. Well, I am at home most of the times so I just make my own pizza to ward off that afternoon weary feeling, I will make my own pizza using loaf bread as my crust! Toppings are usually hotdogs and cheese, but if it's available, I like putting bell peppers, onions, and pineapples as well. It also acts as my late lunch (I don't really eat lunch -- I eat late breakfast and afternoon snacks / lunch at around 3PM).

10 > Barbecue. If I can have it my way, I would prefer every Sundays "barbecue" day, but we usually go out on that day. Smelling barbecue as it is grilling actually comforts me already!

It's 8:30AM now, and writing this list makes me hungry! I guess I will go for an early breakfast today! Thanks for stopping by.
