Weekend Dip in the Pool with the Neighbors

I was a bit disappointed when the service stopped so soon. I thought all along the neighborhood association (as coined by Charmy) will be going to Pulilan in Bulacan. I even googled that Pug Pog resort so I can condition my mind, but when the service just stopped, I knew we were no longer going to Pulilan. I don't know why the sudden change of mind, but I guess all's good. Not being able to go to Pulilan surely saddened me, but then again, we might waste a lot of time travelling, so all was still good.

All the families were incomplete - the Raboys didn't have 'te Cindy, 'te Charo, and Czarina for they were in Singapore, their eldest sister 'te Cielo cannot come because she's five months pregnant and her eldest son just recovered from an illness - her husband decided to pass up this one. The Villarandas didn't have MaFe for she's also in Singapore looking for a job. The Jacelas didn't have any of their children, but they brought their two grandchildren. As for us, we were incomplete, too, for dear brother's in Ilocos. He's been very busy with the Gawad Kalinga thing, and I give him the two thumbs up for the dedication.

Anyway, mom decided to shoulder the entrance fee of all, plus the cottage. Wow, very generous mom, huh? She said it's just fine, after all, tito Euling drove the service and he shouldered the gas, too! Maybe the next time we all go out, the other families can shoulder the entrance fee! Hehehehe. So sad that the Rama family cannot come with us. Hopefully we can bond with them next time.

It was a bit too early when we got there, so the kiddie pool was the only one open. It's about I think 3 feet deep, so most of the time it's either I was sitting or kneeling on the pool's floor! Of course the kids loved it! Tita Flory's granddaughters, Caelyn and Chloe needed some time to adjust, but once they started enjoying the waters, no more convincing needed. After an hour, they opened the much deeper pool, but it's 6 feet deep, and when I tried getting on it, my feet cannot touch the floor! I admit I don't know how to swim, so I just contented myself with the kiddie pool.

For the potluck lunch, mom cooked ampalaya con carne (so there will be some veggies) and she also brought some uncooked marinated pork chops, which she grilled in the resort. We also brought in some chips and a loaf bread for snacks; the Raboys brought vegetable salad (lettuce, cucumbers, and carrots), menudo, and egg sandwiches for snacks; The Villarandas brought chicken adobo with hard boiled eggs, a piece of bangus to be grilled, and gelatin for desserts; and the Jacelas brought pork adobo and paksiw na bangus. They also provided a can of pineapple juice for each and everyone of us. Sumptious lunch, indeed!

By lunch time, they opened yet another pool. It's just the right one for us dippers - the water's cooler, cleaner (the kids' pool got "infested" by kids and their parents), and we don't have to kneel to get our chest area wet. When we got to this pool, there weren't much people, but after 5 minutes, people start to dive in. Good thing they found the pool a bit boring, so most of them went back to the other pools.

Sister wasn't able to enjoy the outing because her red flag was up. I just asked her to be the photographer, and at one time I could tell she got pissed. But then, sister's just like that - the more you console her, the more she feels so helpless, thus making her feel pissed all the more. Just a few shots of her brings her back to her old self. Besides, if I console her more and more, I might end up getting pissed myself, so I just shrug it off and let it be.

One of the things I loved in this resort was that there were a lot of fruit bearing trees. What got me so interested were the duhat fruits, for they were so big compared to the normal duhat fruits I see in the market. Sadly, no one's allowed to pick fruits, so we just content ourselves taking some photo ops!

One of the bad things about visiting a nearby resort (it's just an hour away) was that we spent so much time in the resort. Well, for some that might be a good thing, but sometimes that's not always the case. Well, I guess it was just a slow day, for it was only 10AM and we felt as if we've been there the whole day! We actually ate early lunch at 11AM, and by 12NN all of us were feeling so sleepy! Good thing I saw a stall that sells halo-halo, so even if it costed 25 pesos per glass (or per plastic cup), I still bought myself and my sister a cup!

By 2PM, clouds started to darken, so we decided to leave. As soon as we got home, we just hang the clothes and put all the dishes in the sink we the three of us dozed to sleep. I got up first at 6PM, and no one's really in the mood to eat, so we watched some TV and head on back to bed. I don't know why we were all so tired and sleepy, to think we didn't really stay long in the resort, and we didn't travel far. I guess the filtration / shower in the pool caused me some body aches, so I felt as if I was so tired. I was supposed to blog this by Sunday, but Sunday's still a lazy tiring day, all of us pretty much slept the day! Oh well.
