The first time I heard about "The Old Spaghetti House" or TOSH, it was I think one year ago - when people in the scrapbook e-group I belong to talked about it. Back then I just dream of eating there, for I know I can't really afford it. Hey, TOSH and posh sounds alike, so there. =) It was a forgotten dream after a year, until last March, when I met up with my friend Ahdz. We were walking around the newly renovated -- or still renovating Ali Mall in Cubao, Quezon City when we passed by the place and when I checked that the food they serve were very affordable, I decided to plan on eating there.
Since I have to get a new memory card for my cell phone yesterday, I asked my sister if we can eat lunch there, but we have to pay for our own food -- been treating her to lots of foods lately and I think I've spent quite a lot on her anymore. Upon seeing the prices, she agreed, there we were - embarking on another food trip.
It was already past 1pm when we got to the place so it was a bit deserted. I loved the ambiance inside -- not too bright, not dark either. The bricks and the nice lighting made the whole place close to home. Not to mention that you can smell the foods being cooked! There's a lot to choose, but for this time I ordered something I haven't tasted yet:
Pasta Negra with Crispy Squid >>> Believe it or not, this one only costed 90 pesos! Just smelling this one is already Cloud 9 for me, and when I tasted it, oh my goodness! So delicious. It was squid, but it didn't have that seafood taste that I often don't like. I am so loving this one, I was trying my best not to eat it all at once! Hahaha. My sister opted for something that she's familiar with:
Baked Zitti >>> I asked sister how she found the dish and she said it was good, but she still prefers the one in Sbarro. Actually, no point in comparing, because this one's in pomodoro sauce, and the one in Sbarro's in white sauce. But sister said it was good, maybe she just wasn't used to red sauce.
Best thing about the whole eating experience is that you can have as much parmesan cheese as you want - you have the whole bottle in your table! Sadly, no desserts for us because we're not really big dessert eater, and we wanted to save as much money as possible. Sister said she wanted to eat here again, so for sure we will eat again one of these days.
My tummy's full again. I love it!
